How to upload pictures

One of the things I look forward to the most with this site is sharing pictures. Using Google's picture sharing program, "Picasa", will make this as easy as possible. Here's all there is to it:

  1. Go to your home album on Picasa (I've set up individual albums for each person/family). First, click on the name:

    Judie/Wayne   Garrett/Michelle   Dennis/Paulette   Bobby/Jeannie   Allison/Lucian   Doug/Becky   Laura   Daniel   Roger/Christine   Roggie/Tammy   Lisa/Michael   Jennifer/Mark   Matt/Jackie

  2. Bookmark the address that the link takes you to (so you can get back to it quickly from your browser).

  3. Click "sign in" on the top right. Enter the username / password that I sent by email (the joint google account). If you'd like, you can also check the box which says "remember me...", so that next time you go to that address, you won't have to enter the username and password again (only do this on your home computer though). Click the "sign in" button to complete your login.

  4. Click "upload photos" (located on the left side under the name, or in the middle if you havent uploaded any pictures yet).

  5. Click "browse" and find the picture on your computer that you would like to upload. Repeat for other pictures. Note: It looks like there's another option for selecting photos, but I haven't tested it yet. Try it out if you'd like: click "upload control", and follow the instructions from there. Apparently, this option lets you drag & drop pictures right into your web browser.

Most of these steps you wont have to do every time, but that's it! All the pictures uploaded will be automatically added to the slideshow on the homepage. You can also view all the pictures on the Fearing Family Picasa Homepage .

Later, I'll write another post on how to go about ordering pictures (if you prefer to have a physical copy). If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email Daniel. ;.p

Hi Bri,
I really think you should add the wives and husbands of the cousins, i.e Michael, Becky, Lucian, Tammy, Mark, Jeannie, Michelle, Jackie. They are our family too.

OF COURSE THEY ARE!!! It was only for simplicity purposes that I had the albums referred to by one name. Do you see another way of implementing this?

Each album has a description section for family member's names (and continual additions ;.) ). One of the main reasons I did this was to find out about those additions! I don't even know all the little ones' names. There's what, 15 great grandchildren now?

ok, I changed the references to the albums to include the spouse's names. Please don't ask me to add the children's names to the reference! You little ones are loved too!

One of the things I hope to do for the future of this site is to create (or link to) some sort of family tree. I think it would be great to be able to see all the family with the kids/grandkids/great-grandkids on one (extremely) big sheet.
